Rocket Money alternatives

The best Rocket Money alternatives in 2026

Rocket Money is built to act on your behalf: it can cancel subscriptions through a concierge, negotiate bills, and move money into savings. If you'd rather see every charge clearly and handle the cancelling yourself, or you bank outside the US, these six alternatives are worth a look.

Quick pick

Pick Sprout AI if you want Rocket Money's subscription radar without handing over the controls. It finds recurring charges, estimates the next date and yearly cost, flags price changes, and never moves money. It also covers Canada and runs natively on Mac. Pick PocketGuard if you still want bill-lowering help, and Monarch Money for full budgets.

  1. 1Sprout AI

Best for: Seeing every subscription without handing over controlUS$99.99/yr or US$9.99/wk (CA$129.99/yr in Canada), as of Oct 2026iPhone, iPad, Mac, web, Claude

Sprout AI tracks the same recurring charges Rocket Money is known for, then lets you question them. Ask "Which subscriptions went up this year?" and Sprout lists each detected charge with its estimated next date, annualized cost, and any price change, plus the transactions it found. You cancel what you don't want yourself, because Sprout is read-only. It can't move money, cancel services, or negotiate bills. It connects US and Canadian banks and runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and the web.

    Strengths

    • Recurring-charge detection with next dates, yearly cost, and price changes.
    • Read-only by design, so it can't move money or act on your accounts.
    • US and Canadian banks, with native iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps.

    Trade-offs

    • No cancellation concierge or bill negotiation. You act on what it finds.
    • No free tier: US$99.99 a year after a 3-day iPhone trial.
    • Not on Android.
  2. 2Monarch Money

Monarch Money is the step up if Rocket Money's free budgets feel cramped. It offers Flex Budgeting or category budgets with rollovers, cash-flow reports, investment tracking, and net worth, shared with a partner if you like. Its App Store listing says the platform is read-only, so money can't move. Monarch supports US and Canadian banks and runs on the web, iPhone, iPad, and Android. Core is $99.99 a year with a 7-day trial and no free tier.

    Strengths

    • Full budgeting with rollovers and household sharing.
    • Read-only, per Monarch's App Store listing.
    • Canadian banks and Android supported.

    Trade-offs

    • No free tier.

Copilot says it doesn't hold your money, issue cards, or process payments, and it tracks subscriptions without cancelling or negotiating them. Like Rocket Money, it's US-only. Copilot costs $95 a year after a one-month free trial, and its Money Assistant is a waitlisted beta.

    Strengths

    • Native Mac app plus iPhone, iPad, and web.
    • Subscription and recurring tracking next to budgets.
    • A one-month free trial.

    Trade-offs

    • US-based accounts only.
    • No free tier.
    • Its AI assistant is a waitlisted beta.
  4. 4PocketGuard

Best for: Bill-lowering help outside Rocket Money$74.99/yr, $12.99/mo, or $149.99 lifetime, as of Oct 2026Web, iPhone, Android

PocketGuard is the closest match if Rocket Money's bill negotiation was the draw. It offers bill lowering through a partner, Billshark, and PocketGuard says it never moves your money. For subscriptions, its terms say it gives guidance but doesn't take part in the unsubscribe process. You also get the Leftover number and a choice of budgeting styles. PocketGuard supports the US, Canada, and the UK, at $74.99 a year or $149.99 for life.

    Strengths

    • Bill lowering through Billshark.
    • A $149.99 lifetime plan.
    • US, Canada, and UK support.

    Trade-offs

    • Billshark's fee isn't listed on PocketGuard's feature page.

Quicken Simplifi lists your subscriptions and recurring bills inside its Spending Plan, then projects your cash flow so you can see a tight month coming. Quicken says Simplifi doesn't include a bill payment service, and it has no negotiation or cancellation features, so you stay in control. It works with US and Canadian accounts, one currency at a time, and costs $84.99 a year in the US App Store. Quicken AI, in beta for Basic subscribers, answers questions about your data.

    Strengths

    • Subscriptions, a Spending Plan, and projected cash flow.
    • US and Canadian accounts.
    • A low annual price for a paid app.

    Trade-offs

    • No native Mac app.
  6. 6Empower Personal Dashboard

Best for: A free option if Rocket's free tier was the appealFree dashboard, as of Oct 2026Web, iPhone, iPad, Android

If Rocket Money's free tier was the appeal, Empower's dashboard is the other well-known free option. It tracks spending against a monthly target and shows cash flow, though its real strength is net worth, retirement planning, and investment fees. Empower doesn't negotiate bills or cancel subscriptions. It does offer cash and managed-investing products, and its terms allow promotional calls and texts unless you opt out. Linking is limited to US institutions.

    Strengths

    • Free, with no time limit.
    • Net-worth, retirement, and fee tools.
    • Apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android, plus the web.

    Trade-offs

    • US institutions only.
    • Lighter budgeting and no AI chat.
    • Cash and managed-investing upsells.

What changes at Rocket Money on November 2, 2026

Rocket Money's terms say that from November 2, 2026, bill negotiation becomes a Premium+ feature only, and automatic re-negotiations end that day. Premium+ costs $15 a month and charges no negotiation fee. If negotiation is why you use Rocket Money, price that plan against the alternatives before your next renewal.

Premium+ also adds Rowan, an AI agent that works by text message for select members. Rocket's help center says Rowan can start cancellations and negotiations, set up savings transfers, and request refunds, and may use a connected Gmail account. Some people want an assistant that acts. Others would rather use one that only reads.

How we picked

We judged each app on what Rocket Money users actually use it for, and on the gaps they run into. Prices and features come from each company's own site, help center, and App Store listing, checked on October 13, 2026. Five criteria set the order:

  • Subscriptions: it finds recurring charges and shows what they cost per year.
  • Control: it stays read-only, or says clearly what it can do on your accounts.
  • Coverage: Rocket Money supports US banks only, so we gave credit for Canada.
  • Platforms: iPad and native Mac apps, which Rocket Money doesn't offer.
  • Price: free tiers, annual plans, and what the extras cost.

Sprout AI is our product, made by MindCrafters LLC, and we rank it first because it scores best on the criteria above. That ranking is our judgment. No company paid to appear on this page, and links to other apps are plain links with no affiliate payments. Where another app beats Sprout, its entry says so.

Finding subscriptions matters more than cancelling them

Most subscription savings come from noticing the charge. A $15.99 streaming plan, a $9.99 cloud storage tier, and a $12 app you forgot add up to $455.76 a year. Once you can see that list with next dates, cancelling each one usually takes a few minutes in the app, on the website, or in your Apple subscriptions.

Sprout finds those recurring charges, estimates when each will hit next, and annualizes the cost. Detections are estimates to review, so check each one before you act. Try the subscription cost calculator to see your own total, or read how Sprout works as a subscription tracker.

Rocket Money and the alternatives at a glance

Rocket Money is the only app on this list with a cancellation concierge, and one of two with bill negotiation. Every other app leaves the action to you. That trade buys you Canadian support, iPad and Mac apps, or a lower price, depending on which app you choose.
