Money Wrapped

Wrapped season comes every Sunday.

Every Sunday, Sprout turns your week of spending into a short story you tap through: what you spent, where it went, and the stats you'll want to send to the group chat. On the 1st, you get the whole month the same way.

The short answer

Money Wrapped is Sprout AI's weekly and monthly spending recap, styled like Spotify Wrapped. Every Sunday and on the 1st of each month, Sprout turns your transactions into a short story: total spent and the change from last time, top categories and merchants, your biggest purchase, busiest day, no-spend days, and a card you can share.

Ask it like this

  • “Sum up my spending this week”
  • “What were my top five merchants last month?”
  • “Which day of the week do I spend the most?”
  • “How many no-spend days did I have in September?”
  • “How did this week compare with last week?”
  • “What was my biggest purchase this month?”

What's inside your Money Wrapped

Wrapped packs a week or a month of spending into a few tap-through slides. You see the headline total and how it compares with the period before, then the details that make it feel like yours: where you went most, what took the biggest share, and the one purchase that dwarfed the rest.

  • Total spent and the percentage change from the previous week or month.
  • Top categories with each one's share of the total, plus your top merchants by spend.
  • Biggest purchase, with the merchant and the amount.
  • Busiest day of the week, so you finally know whether Saturdays are the problem.
  • No-spend days, how many purchases you made, and how many different places you paid.
  • Fun facts like your coffee runs, delivery orders, rides, and visits to your favorite spot.
  • Your money personality for the period, from The Foodie to The Silent Saver.

Weekly on Sundays, monthly on the 1st

The weekly Wrapped lands on Sunday and covers your week. It's short enough to read over breakfast and recent enough that you remember every line. The monthly Wrapped arrives on the 1st and covers the month that just ended, compared with the whole month before it.

The two work as a pair. Weekly Wrapped catches a habit while it's forming, and monthly Wrapped shows whether it stuck. If you open the monthly view before the month ends, Sprout compares it with the same days of the previous month, so a half-finished month never looks artificially cheap.

Made to share, safe to share

Every Wrapped comes with a story-sized card for Instagram Stories, iMessage, or wherever your share sheet goes. The card shows the period, your total, the change from last time, your top four categories, and up to three fun facts. It never shows account names or balances.

When you share, your invite link can ride along, and a friend who starts Sprout earns you both rewards. Opening your Wrapped is also one of the daily quests in Sprout's money habit, and your first one earns the That's a wrap achievement.

Wrapped versus the recap you have now

Your bank already sends a statement. The difference is what you can learn from it in under a minute. A statement lists transactions for one bank. Wrapped combines every account you connect, ranks what matters, and tells you how this period compares with the last one, with the exact percentage.

Wrapped is the highlight reel. Sprout has the full game.

A recap answers what happened. Questions answer why. Because Wrapped and Sprout's chat read the same transactions, you can follow up on anything that surprised you: "Why was eating out higher in September?" or "Show every Trader Joe's charge last month." The answer comes with the accounts and dates behind it, like every spending answer.

Turn the 1st into a money review

The monthly Wrapped is a natural start to a short money review. Read the story, note one category that ran hot, and ask Sprout two or three follow-up questions about it. Our monthly money review guide has a simple checklist that fits in a coffee break.

Do that twelve times and you have a year of spending you actually understand, built one month at a time. You also skip the December scramble, because there's nothing left to piece together when the year ends. The weekly editions fill in the gaps between.

Common questions

Money Wrapped: your questions, answered.

What is Money Wrapped?

Money Wrapped is Sprout's spending recap in story format, inspired by year-end music recaps. A weekly edition arrives on Sundays and a monthly edition on the 1st. Each shows your total, top categories and merchants, biggest purchase, busiest day, and fun facts from your own transactions.

Is there a Spotify Wrapped for my spending?

That's the idea behind Money Wrapped. Instead of once a year, you get one every week and every month, built from the bank and card accounts you connect. Sprout isn't affiliated with Spotify. It borrows the format because a story is the quickest way to see where your money went.

When does my Wrapped arrive?

Weekly Wrapped arrives on Sundays and covers your week. Monthly Wrapped arrives on the 1st and covers the month that just ended, compared with the full month before. On iPhone, you can turn on weekly notifications so you know when a new one is ready.

What's on the Wrapped share card?

The period, your total spent, the change from last time, your top four categories, and up to three fun facts. Cards never include account names or balances, so you can post your week without posting your bank details.

Which accounts does Money Wrapped include?

The bank and card accounts you connect through Plaid, from eligible institutions in the United States and Canada. The connection is read-only. If you hold both US and Canadian dollar accounts, Sprout keeps the currencies separate and never converts one into the other.

Can I ask questions about my Wrapped?

Yes. Wrapped and chat read the same transactions, so you can ask follow-ups like "Why was eating out higher in September?" or "Show every Trader Joe's charge last month" and get the answer with the accounts and dates behind it.

How much does Sprout cost?

Money Wrapped is part of Sprout Plus: US$99.99 per year or US$9.99 per week, with a 3-day free trial for eligible Apple accounts on iPhone. You can explore fictional sample data before connecting a bank. See pricing.

Ask Sprout where your money went.

Connect your accounts read-only, ask in plain English, and get the number with the receipts. 3 days free on iPhone if eligible.
